Your Impact and Philanthropy at Work
Advancing Brain Cancer Research Through Partnership

Your generosity is powering a collaborative research effort between Kettering Health and Dayton Children’s Hospital focused on improving detection and treatment for gliomas, one of the most aggressive forms of brain cancer. With limited treatment options and low survival rates, this research brings together clinical experts from both health systems to better understand how these tumors develop and progress.
The collaboration expands the Living Biobank at Dayton Children’s, a globally recognized resource that preserves tumor samples to support ongoing research, and funds research into a new option for detecting the recurrence of these cancers. By sharing data and expertise, researchers are working toward more precise monitoring and treatment approaches. This partnership reflects how philanthropy fuels innovation, collaboration, and hope for patients and families facing devastating diagnoses.
Expanding Access to Innovative Mental Health Care

Your generosity helped bring Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation, or TMS, a groundbreaking mental health treatment, to our community. This advanced technology enables Kettering Health physicians to treat depression and map brain function more precisely before surgery.TMS is at the forefront of care for patients with medication resistant depression and offers new hope for individuals who have not found relief through traditional approaches. It also supports safer neurosurgical planning, improving outcomes for patients who need complex procedures.
As depression, anxiety, and other mental health challenges continue to rise, this non invasive treatment expands options for patients who previously had few effective choices. Because of your support, this leading edge care is now available close to home for those who need it most. Your generosity is improving lives and strengthening mental health care across western Ohio.
Improving Heart Failure Care Through Remote Monitoring (ZOLL Heart Failure Management System)

A new approach to supporting heart failure patients is taking shape, improving care well beyond the hospital walls. Through your support, Kettering Health Foundation has piloted the ZOLL Heart Failure Management System at Soin Medical Center and has now expanded the program to Kettering Health Main Campus. This allows clinicians to remotely monitor patients at home and detect early signs of worsening conditions. This proactive model helps reduce hospital stays and gives patients greater peace of mind.
Your support is also making this technology available to high‑risk patients whose insurance does not provide coverage. Because of you, outcomes are improving, access to care is expanding, and heart health is stronger across our community.
Supporting Families in the NICU through Compassionate Care

Your generosity is bringing comfort, connection, and hope to families with babies in the NICU and Special Care Nursery. Through the SENSE program, donor support helps parents actively bond with their premature newborns during a time that can feel overwhelming. Resources like skin-to-skin wraps, voice recorders, and other sensory tools provide comfort and support healthy development.
Each year, approximately 150 families benefit from this program because of your kindness. Your gift is giving our most vulnerable babies a strong start, rooted in love, security, and connection.
Obstetric Training for Our Care Teams

Support from the Greatest Needs Fund, made possible by partners like you, is ensuring our care teams are prepared to support mothers and babies when it matters most. Donor funding allowed us to replace the Sim Mom training mannequin, a critical tool for hands-on obstetric education across Kettering Health.
This upgrade helps nurses, physicians, and emergency care teams meet state training standards and confidently practice high-risk scenarios. With the new mannequin in place, an estimated 500 to 600 staff members will be trained each year. This investment strengthens patient safety and helps ensure families receive the highest level of care now and in the future.
